Thank you for applying with Austin ISD. We want this to be a positive experience for you. Please take a few moments to review the instructions prior to completing your application. We have included some frequently asked questions that we hope will be helpful to you. If you need further assistance, you may request help via email.

The online application may only be used for administrative and professional positions, including teaching positions.

To apply for a professional position, please complete each of the following steps:

1. Complete the online application for professional positions (link below).

2. All teachers applicants must complete the Gallup Teacher Insight Interview (instruction and link below).

3. Send the following documents to the office of Professional Human Resources, 1111 W. 6th Street, Austin TX 78703 or fax to (512) 499-0270:

• Resume
• Official transcripts that show your degree conferred
• Teaching certificate (front & back, if out of state), deficiency plan, or other documentation that shows your progress toward certification

4. Download and print three copies of the reference assessment form and send to your three references. Ask them to return the forms to Human Resources as soon as possible.

5. Check the Job Search on our website - it is updated daily. Once you see a vacancy that interests you, please send the principal of that campus a copy of your resume and a letter of interest requesting an interview. Campus addresses are listed on the website as well as fax numbers. Interviews are scheduled after principals select candidates. Principals send in recommendations for hire and Human Resources will contact candidates with official offers.

Tips for Completing the Application Online

• The application is best viewed using Netscape 4.7 or higher (4.5 or higher will work, but not 6.0) or MS Explorer 4.0 or higher. You may want to reduce the size of your browser's font to allow more of the application to be visible on your screen. (In Explorer, you can do this by selecting View, then Text Size)

• It is anticipated that the application process will take approximately 45 - 60 minutes to complete.

• You will be asked for the following specific information to complete the application. Have available for reference:

• Certification Type, Level, Description; month, day and year of issue and month, day and year of expiration, if applicable.
• College/Universities and dates attended, graduated date, degree earned and major subject.
• To/From dates of teaching, student teaching and non-teaching experience, name of organization, name of supervisor and contact phone number.
• Three professional references including name, title, organization, work phone, home phone & email address, if available.

• Once you have submitted your application, you will receive the message, "Your application has been successfully submitted to Austin ISD." If you have provided an email address, an email will be sent to that address confirming the receipt of your application.

• If you have problems viewing or downloading the reference assessment forms, you may need to download and install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader browser plugin software. You can download and install it free with detailed instructions on how to install from Adobe.com.

Teacher Insight Interview
(Required for all teacher applicants)

The Website for the Gallup Teacher Insight Interview is https://gx.gallup.com/teacherinsight.gx. You will need to reserve at least 45 minutes of uninterrupted time for this multiple choice and free response survey. Please read the instructions carefully before beginning this timed interview. If you have previously complete the TI with another district, please transfer the information to Austin ISD by going to the website and entering our district code. The number to access or transfer the online interview is 63483. Your TI results will be directly send to us and become part of your applicant profile.
