Math and Science Classroom Coaching Coordinator: Are you interested in helping students become more successful and confident in science and math by connecting them with caring community members?

A Program Coordinator is needed to manage volunteer recruitment, communication, and program implementation in support of community volunteers and teachers for Math and Science Classroom Coaching programs.

Cover letter should include:

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 2 years teaching experience in science and/or math
• Experience working with volunteers
• Demonstrated ability to write and implement science curriculum
• Demonstrated ability to make effective presentations
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with school personnel
• Ability to create and foster effective relationships with schools and volunteers
• Excellent skills in oral and written communications
• Experience working with people from underserved communities
• Ability to work with others as a member of a team in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Ability to manage large amounts of database information; excellent attention to details
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Outlook, Word
• Demonstrated enjoyment of science and mathematics
• Enthusiasm for providing all students with high-quality educational experiences
• Fluency in Spanish is an asset

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Collaborate with district and APIE staff to develop aligned Classroom Coaching Science Curriculum, as well as additional volunteer resources and training
• Coordinate volunteers at 1-2 schools for Partners in Science and Partners in Math, which includes training, placement, support, and recognition
• Coordinate the programs in approximately 15-20 classrooms, which includes collaborating with teachers and volunteers and resolving any conflicts
• Regularly visit schools to monitor and support programs (reliable transportation required)
• Establish relationships with corporate and community partners and manage communication related to volunteer recruitment and retention
• Assist with communication related to program expansion
• Assist in planning events for volunteers, including initial and ongoing trainings and appreciation/networking events during the school year
• Implement program improvements as determined by evaluation
