Our Facilities

AISD has facilities, land, and other assets representing a taxpayer investment of almost $1 billion.

In September 2004, Austin voters approved a $519.5 million bond package that, by 2010, will build eight new schools, 92 additional classrooms in existing campuses, and a District performing arts center; renovate existing schools and facilities; and upgrade campus security.

The first two elementary schools of this Apple At Work Bond Program will opened in Fall 2006. They are located in Southeast and Southwest Austin. Three others - a middle school and two elementaries - are under construction and will open in Fall 2007. They are located in Northeast and Southeast Austin. A middle school is also planned for Southwest Austin, and two elementary schools will be built where needed.
