AISD Receives 'Superior' Financial Rating
Austin ISD received a rating of Superior Achievement for fiscal year 2006-2007, according to the Financial Rating System of Texas. The Financial Rating System requires all Texas school districts to submit financial data to the Texas Education agency, which is used to rate them according to defined indicators. The ratings are Superior Achievement ; Above Standard Achievement; Standard Achievement; Substandard Achievement; and Suspended: Data Quality. In addition, the District earned a debt rating of Aa1 from Moody's Investors Service, A-1+ from Standard & Poor's, and AA from Fitch Ratings. These continue to be among the highest ratings available by these three rating agencies to Texas public schools. The Austin School District was also one of 16 school districts in Texas awarded the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association. |
