Applications must be complete before they can be reviewed. Please see the Application Checklist for a list of needed materials.

The criteria used to review applications are:

1. Project results will have high value to a particular school, to AISD as a whole, or to education in general.
2. The project effectively addresses one of AISD's Board Results Policies.
3. The project reflects an awareness of ongoing District initiatives.
4. The proposal reflects an awareness of District student and parent survey results and/or other District research and program evaluations.
5. Project timelines are reasonable, and allow schools some flexibility in scheduling data collection and other activities.
6. The project's design and instrumentation are technically sound.
7. Project procedures incorporate evidence-based educational practice.
8. Project timelines are reasonable, and allow schools some flexibility in scheduling data collection and other activities.
9. Project activities are compatible with AISD's policies, curriculum guidelines, and programs and services.
10. Procedures for obtaining consent from parents/guardians and for maintaining data confidentiality are consistent with AISD, state, and federal requirements.
11. The project does not require numerous schools, a large or difficult to identify sample, or extensive staff or instructional time. If one of these is required, a sufficient justification for this is provided.
12. When feasible, the study should offer some sort of classroom-related acknowledgment for participation, i.e., participants should be offered a small "thank you" for their time (e.g. pencils with a college logo, books, teacher store gift cards, etc.).
