The Apple at Work Logo
| The Grid.
The partly filled grid pattern in the apple evokes both construction (scaffolding
or a building frame) and finance (a graph). In both cases, the upward
trajectory of the filled portion (rising from left to right) represents
progress and aspiration — building for the future — as well as successful
stewardship and management of the project. |
The Apple. Not only is the apple a conventional—and positive—symbol
for schools, but it is also the central element in the Austin ISD logo,
thus building on the District’s existing brand equity and reinforcing
that the Bond Program’s benefits and successes are those of Austin ISD. |
The Heart. The powerful emotional connection with schools, children
and education is exemplified by the heart-shaped shadow. |
 |
| "The Apple at Work" not only reinforces the messages conveyed by
the visual elements, but also helps define Austin ISD’s role in the community
as both active and proactive, and the Bond Program as a dynamic endeavor
leading not just the District, but also the city toward a bright future. |
"Our schools. Our community. Our future." This makes explicit some
of these same messages, while — by repeating and stressing “our” —
conveys the District’s commitment to outreach, partnership and meaningful
collaboration with stakeholders. |
"AISD Bond Programs" was added to give name recognition to the project.
That these are Austin ISD’s Bond Programs and not all of the schools in the
Greater Austin Region. |
