The bond proposal is based on educational specifications that include the descriptions of effective curriculum and instructional design. The Austin ISD Board of Trustees has dedicated approximately $40 million to provide supportive environments for the delivery of standardized educational programs.

• Key areas of focus include: oTeaming and engaging students in learning. oA variety of ages of students and staff working together, and oStudent production in laboratories and libraries.
• Technology as a tool and catalyst used throughout the curriculum.
• Options are provided for community use and access in gymnasium areas, parent areas, libraries, and computer labs.

A skillfully articulated curriculum will:

• Provide direction for the school district.
• Establish common goals and expectations.
• Ensure consistency and continuity of educational opportunities.
• Provide basis for addressing individual student needs.
• Connect the work of teachers and students.
• Provide context for communication about the curriculum.
