Community Involvement
Austin ISD knows that the success of the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs depends on a healthy ongoing partnership with students, parents, campus staff, the Austin ISD community, and the design and contracting community. The District strives to listen to all concerns and comments, to ensure that stakeholders have an opportunity to engage with issues related to the bond programs, and to guarantee that everybody feels they received enough information and were included in an ongoing dialogue. The bond programs’ community involvement strategy is designed to make it easy for Austin ISD’s diverse stakeholders to participate meaningfully in this process. The district’s communications team is making presentations throughout the area at social and civic clubs, at issue-specific community roundtables, on Austin ISD campuses, and at larger community and district events. Austin ISD’s also seeking input from individuals and groups both in person and online, and is committed to providing up-to-date information available to all on the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs on this Web site, in district publications and notices, on Austin ISD’s Channel 22 and in local media. In addition to partnering with the community on the overall bond program,
Austin ISD aims to build relationships at the campus level with individual
schools and neighborhoods affected by 2004 and 2008 Bond Program projects. These
localized efforts will ensure that parents and neighbors get answers to
their most critical questions and know the progress being made on investing
wisely in their children’s future. |
