2004 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Construct additional parking spaces in selected areas
• Repair service drive and reseal all asphalt paving
• Resurface tennis courts
• Construct sidewalks along west side of buildings
• Repair/replace deteriorated exterior doors, frames and hardware
• Apply slip-resistant surface treatment at covered walkway
• Repair/replace brick masonry in various locations and add masonry control joints
• Repair/replace approximately 15,000 square feet of built-up roofing and repair sections of metal roofing
• Renovate/refurbish student and faculty restrooms
• Create restroom and shower for PE teachers from existing space
• Install lockable cabinets in tech ed lab
• Replace clock system
• Replace worn floor covering in selected areas
• Repair/refurbish student lockers
• Replace deteriorated ventilation system controls and equipment
• Replace ventilation system chiller
• Replace exhaust fans in student and faculty restrooms and in girls’ and boys’ PE dressing areas
• Repair/replace/modify selected ventilation system equipment
• Replace electrical switchgear, motor control center, panel boards and deteriorated wiring
• Enlarge health services and create faculty center and workroom from existing space
• Renovate theater arts classroom
• Install safety and security enhancements

2008 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Technology upgrades
• Replace dishwasher

Phases

Current Schedule Budget General Environmental
Repair/replace approximately 15,000 square feet of built-up roofing and repair sections of metal roofing. Complete. Within budget.* Coordinated with ventilation project and cabling concerns on the roof. By spreading out the work, more contactors will bid lower prices. New replacement of roof system will provide increased thermal efficiency and solar reflectivity includes replacing standing seam metal roofing at gym.
Drainage, ventilation and accessibility improvements. Complete. Within budget.* After field investigations, it was determined that proper drainage improvements should offset any ventilation requirements to control moisture in crawlspaces. Grouped with two other schools. Environmental considerations are limited to on-site drainage projects. Care will be taken to avoid excess soil erosion during construction.
Safety and security: card reader door access and door repair. Construction phase. Within budget.* Board award October 2008. Grouped with four other schools.
Additional parking, reseal asphalt paving, resurface tennis courts, construct sidewalks, replace and repair doors and frames, repair and replace brick masonry, student and faculty restrooms, replace worn floor coverings, repair student lockers, replace ventilation system, upgrade electrical system, enlarge health services, faculty center and workroom, renovate theater arts, and closed circuit TV. Substantially complete. Over budget.* Final adjustments to heating, ventilation and air conditioning system and controls underway. All designs will meet Austin Energy’s two-star Green Building rating.
Insert supplemental outside air system. Complete. Within budget. Funded with 2002 bond funds.* The new mechanical system exceeds latest energy standards (ASHRAE 90.1, 2001).

*Budget for the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs are reported as both individual project budgets and overall program budget. While specific projects may be over or under budget, the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs remain well within the total program budget.
