2004 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Install additional exterior security lighting
• Construct dumpster pads at service drive
• Repair/refurbish deteriorated exterior doors
• Repair approximately 58,000 square feet of built-up roofing
• Reseal windows and frames at library, cafeteria and classrooms
• Refurbish student and facility restrooms
• Replace damaged ceiling tile in interior corridors
• Replace clock system
• Replace deteriorated ventilation system controls and equipment
• Replace deteriorated exhaust fans in student restrooms
• Replace ventilation system equipment serving the administration area
• Install emergency egress lighting
• Replace grease trap serving the kitchen
• Expand and renovate PE/athletics dressing rooms, teachers’ offices and showers
• Construct new orchestra rehearsal suite
• Replace selected library casework/cabinetry/furnishings
• Convert room 151 into special education classroom
• Renovate/remodel band and auxiliary band rehearsal halls
• Install safety and security enhancements

2008 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Technology upgrades
• Cafeteria and kitchen improvements
• Replace dishwasher

Phases

Current Schedule Budget General Environmental
Provide modify mechanical ventilation of under floor crawlspace, make modifications to drainage system to prevent water intrusion. Complete. Under budget. Funded with 2002 bond funds.* Electrical service is now at or near capacity due to equipment installation and will be deferred to a new project. Sediment controls.
Replace 58,000 square feet of built-up roofing. Complete. Under budget.* Green products and sustainability/energy-wise selections for building components.
Phase I: Interior demolition in P.E. and Music areas, sitework, new fire lanes and water quality ponds. Construction phase. Within budget.* Initial work in advance of band hall addition and renovations to P.E. area, music area and other improvements included in Phase II. Green products and sustainability/energy-wise selections for building components.
Install exterior security lighting and emergency egress lighting. Safety and security: closed circuit TV and card reader door access. Electrical upgrades. Complete. Within budget.* Green products and sustainability/energy-wise selections for building components.
Phase II: Reseal windows and frames, repair exterior doors, refurbish student/faculty restrooms, replace heating and air conditioning controls, replace grease trap in kitchen, construct dumpster pads, replace clock system, replace exhaust fans, expand and renovate PE dressing rooms, construct orchestra suite, replace worn floors, replace furniture and equipment in the library, convert classroom to special education room, construct new band hall. Construction phase. Over budget.* Original concept of constructing band hall and orchestra rehearsal hall additions had to be modified to include construction of new band hall and renovation of existing band hall for orchestra rehearsal hall. New construction to meet Austin Energy’s two-star Green Building rating.

*Budget for the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs are reported as both individual project budgets and overall program budget. While specific projects may be over or under budget, the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs remain well within the total program budget.
