2004 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Repair and reseal/replace asphalt paving at student parking lot
• Replace asphalt with concrete at delivery/service drive
• Repair/replace deteriorated exterior doors, frames and hardware
• Replace joint sealant between concrete wall panels
• Replace damaged masonry screen wall at cooling tower
• Repair/replace approximately 180,000 square feet of built-up roofing
• Replace inoperable windows in various locations
• Refurbish/replace science casework fume hoods and eyewash sinks
• Remodel/reconfigure counseling area
• Refinish/replace deteriorated interior doors and hardware
• Replace damaged ceramic tile in locker rooms
• Repair/replace boys’ PE lockers and benches
• Renovate/refurbish student restrooms
• Replace one ventilation system chiller
• Replace deteriorated system ventilation system controls and equipment
• Refurbish/replace ventilation system cooling tower, boilers, and selected equipment
• Replace deteriorated restroom exhaust fans
• Renovate ventilation system in Old Mall (old industrial arts and PE/athletics buildings)
• Provide emergency egress and exit lighting
• Replace aging switchgear, panels and ventilation motor controls
• Install additional electrical circuits and outlets in administration area
• Replace lighting in locker areas
• Install additional exterior security lighting
• Install safety and security enhancements
• Install additional exterior security lighting at south parking lot

2008 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Replace heating, ventilation and air conditioning system equipment in gymnasium buildings
• Convert two existing classrooms into science classrooms
• Install science safety equipment

Replace asphalt with concrete at delivery/service drive; replace joint sealant between concrete wall panels; replace damaged masonry screen wall at cooling tower; replace inoperable windows in various classrooms in old and new malls, gym area, cafeteria and administration area; remodel/reconfigure counseling area; refinish/replace deteriorated interior doors and hardware; replace damaged ceramic tile in locker rooms; repair/replace boys’ PE lockers and benches; renovate/refurbish student restrooms; provide emergency egress and exit lighting; install additional electrical circuits and outlets in administration area; replace lighting in locker areas; install additional exterior security lighting; repair and reseal/replace asphalt paving at student parking lot. Construction phase. Within budget.* Grouped with project at Clifton Center. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment replaced with energy efficient units.
Repair/replace approximately 180,000 square feet of built-up roofing. Complete. Under budget.* Major roof replacement at each building except old mall and cafeteria which were replaced in 2004. New replacement roof system will provide increased thermal efficiency and solar reflectivity. Original roof deck had no insulation. Austin Energy has been notified of intent for application for energy rebates due to additional roof insulation to be provided.
Refurbish/replace ventilation system cooling tower, boilers and selected equipment. Complete. Over budget. Funded with both 2002 and 2004 bond funds.* Project designed with sustainability and environmental impact in mind. After completion, ensure all newly installed mechanical systems operate at peak efficiency.
Repair/reseal paving at student parking lot. Complete. Under budget.*
Exterior door replacement. Complete. Within budget.*
Safety and security: closed circuit TV. Complete. Within budget.*
Science classroom casework. Complete. Under budget.* Construction Management working with science department chairs to establish science classroom renovations program as district-wide standard so that renovations to older facilities will be consistent district-wide.
Science classroom ventilation. Provide new exhaust fans at the chemical/storage prep room. Complete. Under budget.* Ventilation systems accelerated from science classroom renovations for construction this summer. Primarily ventilation safety items. Modified ventilation systems will provide improvement in indoor air quality.
Supernode expansion. Upgrades to heating and air conditioning system. Complete. Funded with technology funds from 2004 Bond Program.* All new mechanical systems will meet and exceed the latest energy standards.
Convert two science classrooms and provide science safety equipment; install exterior security lighting; repair/replace heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment at gymnasium building. Design phase. Building systems designed to follow Green Building principles.

*Budget for the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs are reported as both individual project budgets and overall program budget. While specific projects may be over or under budget, the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs remain well within the total program budget.
