2004 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Replace exterior metal stair
• Install additional exterior security lighting
• Improve storm/site drainage in selected areas
• Replace deteriorated exterior doors, frames and hardware
• Repair structural concrete and repair/repoint brick masonry
• Replace approximately 165,000 square feet of built-up roofing
• Provide moisture-resistant ceiling and grid in kitchen
• Install wood floor and ballet bar in dance room
• Repair/replace lockers in boys’ PE dressing room
• Repair/replace damaged student lockers
• Repair/replace band instrument lockers
• Renovate faculty restrooms
• Renovate/refurbish student restrooms
• Replace deteriorated ventilation system equipment in selected areas
• Provide electrical and data outlets in computer labs and library
• Replace light fixtures in boys’ locker room
• Install water heater in life skills classroom
• Construct new theater arts building
• Remodel library
• Remodel existing auditorium into classroom space
• Enlarge and renovate selected science classrooms
• Install safety and security enhancements
• Replace heating, cooling and ventilation system equipment at gymnasium

2008 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Technology upgrades
• Replace heating, ventilation and air conditioning system equipment in gymnasium
• Renovate one-science classroom
• Install science safety equipment
• Renovate eight-science classrooms for LASA
• Install science safety equipment for LASA

Phases

Current Schedule Budget General Environmental
Phase I: Initial library remodel and expansion, fire alarm, kitchen, dance room and restroom renovation. Air handling units and water heater replacement. Phase II: continuation of library expansion and renovations, purchase of library furniture, new boilers, locker work, exterior work; new theater and auditorium building, convert existing auditorium into band rehearsal hall, renovate selected science classrooms, security and safety improvements, site drainage improvements and roof replacement. Complete. Over budget due to site constraints requiring the Fine Arts Center to be a separate building.* The existing air handling units are being replaced with high efficiency equipment that will be connected to an energy management system. New construction will be designed in compliance with Austin Energy two-star Green Building rating.
Install safety and security enhancements. Complete. Funded with 1996 bond funds.*
Renovate one science classroom and acquire science safety equipment; replace heating, ventilation and air conditioning system equipment at gymnasium, renovate eight science classrooms and acquire science safety equipment at LASA. Design phase.

*Budget for the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs are reported as both individual project budgets and overall program budget. While specific projects may be over or under budget, the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs remain well within the total program budget.
