2004 Bond Program Scope of Work

• Improve storm/site drainage in selected areas
• Repair/replace deteriorated exterior doors and aluminum storefront at selected locations
• Re-establish waterproofing at cafeteria planter
• Repaint masonry walls at cafeteria and entry arches
• Replace window wall system at theater
• Install new band instrument lockers
• Refurbish damaged interior doors and frames
• Repair/refinish student lockers
• Refurbish /replace PE athletic dressing room lockers
• Renovate/refurbish student and faculty restrooms
• Rebuild/replace ventilation system chillers
• Replace deteriorated ventilation system controls and equipment
• Replace ventilation system cooling tower, chillers and selected equipment
• Provide additional electrical power for faculty workroom and faculty center
• Construct classroom addition with associated parking
• Construct new library media center and convert existing library into classroom space
• Install safety and security enhancements
• Construct direct exitway from cafeteria
• Construct direct exitway from science classrooms 109A and B

Current Schedule Budget General Environmental
Replace ventilation system cooling tower, chillers and selected equipment. Complete. Under budget.* Commissioned to ensure peak performance. Replaced with high efficiency unit.
Kitchen hood fire suppression replacement. Complete. Under budget.*
Classroom addition, construct new library media center and convert existing library into classroom space, restrooms, locker rooms, mechanical equipment, classroom renovations, accessibility improvements. Complete. Over budget. Shortfall met with use of both project-level and program-level contingency funds.* City of Austin approved constructing the classroom addition and the library media center on the south side of the existing building on city property. On site detention sedimentation/filtration ponds, shading devices, window tint, high mass wall construction. Use low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), light colored finishes and environmentally friendly refrigerants. High-efficiency lighting system. LED exit signs, lighting controls, water-saving equipment and fixtures.
Safety and security: card reader door access and closed circuit TV. Complete. Within budget.*

*Budget for the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs are reported as both individual project budgets and overall program budget. While specific projects may be over or under budget, the 2004 and 2008 Bond Programs remain well within the total program budget.
