Austin Independent School District Ready for School Year with Renovations, New Schools August 8, 2006
Two years after Austin voters overwhelmingly approved a five-year, $519.5 million school bond program, the Austin Independent School District (AISD), its faculty and its students are experiencing the effects of improvements to campuses and facilities district-wide. This summer, AISD made major strides on construction projects at schools throughout the district and completed finishing touches on the first new schools to be built as a part of the Apple at Work Bond Program.

Austin School Trustees have been told that all projects associated with the District’s 2004 Apple at Work Bond Program are proceedings within budgeted and available contingency funds; the majority of the construction undertakings are on schedule; and management oversight of the work is effective.
