The Facility Master Plan (FMP) is a three part framework which includes 1) a FMP framework, 2) annual information needed to inform the framework, and 3) annual facilities recommendations (AFRs). This comprehensive, long-term framework centers around aligning facilities to support the AISD Strategic Plan and Board priorities for each school year.

Executive Summary

The Facility Master Plan (FMP) would establish a three-part framework, which includes: 1) an FMP framework; 2) annual information needed to inform the framework; and 3) annual facilities recommendations. The administration is recommending the adoption of a comprehensive, long-term FMP framework that would support the district’s long-term goals, including the Strategic Plan, as well as shorter-term priorities, such as Board priorities for each school year.

The framework will provide an annual schedule for developing recommendations, academic and operational guidance, and site selection process for new schools. Detailed information regarding district utilization, district assessment, facility condition index results, and individual facility assessments would be updated annually to inform the framework.

The outcome of the FMP framework (which would utilize the updated data) would be the Annual Facilities Recommendations (AFRs) that reflect the intersection of academic expectations and operational needs to provide the yearly actions for ongoing facility utilization and improvements. The framework has been deliberately designed to be flexible enough to respond to necessary changes in academic and operational needs so that adjustments to the allocation of resources can be incorporated accordingly each school year.
