Austin ISD's 2011-12 End of School Year Report
Superintendent Carstarphen congratulates Teacher of the Year Matt Earhart at Salute, May 23.
We are pleased to present AISD's third annual End-of-School-Year Report, a collection of district milestones and highlights from the 2011-12 school year. The interactive timeline format of our report allows you to relive some of the most significant moments of this past school year through photos, videos and print. You can concentrate on a certain event, navigate the timeline or follow it chronologically. More information about events on this timeline is available on the AISD website. A great place to start is the Public Relations & Multicultural Outreach homepage, which contains links to news releases, announcements, publications, video clips from AISD's Channel 22 TV station and more. For example, our website has more information on the background and achievements of AISD's Teacher of the Year Matt Earhart, pictured with me at Salute, May 23.
This report gives you a sweeping view of the great work we've done this year as a school district. After a turbulent 2010-11 school year, during which we stabilized our finances, this report shows a district in control of its destiny and taking strides toward our strategic objectives. From adopting the district's first Facility Master Plan Framework, to withdrawing the district's declaration of financial exigency; from our commitment to social and emotional learning, to the state and national awards won by our students, teachers and schools, AISD is a district moving swiftly in the right direction.
Thank you for taking this opportunity to review the events and accomplishments of the 2011-12 school year at AISD. I hope you find his trip through the recent past informative and entertaining.
Meria Joel Carstarphen
