Salute to Recognize Teacher of the Year, Outstanding Campus and Community Leaders - May 7, 2007

April 30, 2007 - Austin Partners in Education is pleased to announce the nominees and finalists for the 2007 Campus and Community Awards to be presented at the annual Salute banquet. All nominees will be recognized and winners announced at the event on May 7 at 6:00 PM at the Hilton Austin. The campus Teachers of the Year and winner of the AISD Teacher of the Year will also be highlighted at the event.

The banquet marks the culmination of the awards process, which recognizes and spotlights exceptional teachers, partners, volunteers, and staff who make a difference in the academic achievements of students in the Austin Independent School District. Community judges reviewed applications and selected finalists with the most compelling and meaningful stories.

From a group of engineers who work and volunteer together to a dedicated second grade teacher who masterminded a successful pilot program, Campus and Community Award nominees go beyond their traditional scopes to build relationships, confidence, and interest in Austin-ISD students.
