Part 5: Student Incentives - Attendance Education Forums SMART TIP: When organizing attendance education forums, invite the judge from the precinct your school files in. This can be a great opportunity for parents to ask them questions and can give parents a better understanding of the role of the court system in dealing with truancy cases. Hold Forums throughout the school year - make sure to have forums in September, October, and during the Spring. Invite guardians & students that have 3 or more unexcused absences. Use Incentives to get students and parents to attend - (i.e. attendance Credit for attending the forum, door prizes, etc., a sample attendance forum invitation letter and agenda can be found at the end of this section) At a minimum the forum agenda should address the following:
