Graduation Requirements for the Incoming Freshman Class of 2007-08 and Thereafter

Background: TEC 28.025 (b-1) mandates that the SBOE shall require that the curriculum requirements for the Recommended and Distinguished Achievement High School Programs under Subsection (a) include a requirement that students successfully complete four courses in each subject area of the foundation curriculum (core courses) under Section 28.001 (a) (1) and that one or more course offered in the required curriculum for the Recommended and Advanced High school programs include a research writing component.

*IPC phased out in 2012-2013. Until that time, if students elect to substitute physics or chemistry for IPC, they must take both science courses (one is considered an academic elective).
