Creating Tomorrow's Citizens
A big thank you to our community partners who have provided support and recognition to the Character Education Program: The Law firm of Jenkens & Gilchrist, PC A core belief in AISD is that that effort creates ability. Sustained effort in an instructional environment that is rich in rigor, relevance and positive relationships results in achievement at high levels. However, students who are absent from the core instruction due to truancy and misbehaviors resulting in serious discipline or inappropriate referrals to special education cannot sustain the effort required for achievement at high levels. Minimizing these distracters to student effort requires campus wide involvement in actively teaching, reinforcing and modeling character skills in a positive learning environment. How to Use This Toolkit This toolkit is designed to fully support character education implementation on all AISD campuses. While it contains everything a campus will need to implement character education, it is not intended to replace any activities or programs which campuses are already doing in character education. Rather, this toolkit will enrich and supplement any existing character education efforts. I Overview of Character Education in AISD
